HOT PLATE SIMMERSTAT CONTROL PLAIN 240V.AC

Hot Plate, general purpose laboratory hot plate, 240V.AC. 600 watts. Rectangular 200x180mm area, with high temperature alloy plate for even plate temperature.

'Simmerstat' temperature control provides heat adjustment from zero to full over a scale from 1 to 10. At the setting of 10, maximum plate temperature is approx 450deg.C.

Ideal for general laboratory use.

Inclined Plane alloy cart with 4x wheels, cart body is 80x50mm LxW, with hole to fix a cord and to carry weights to roll at low friction down the plane. To study forces and vectors.

Magnets, pair of bar type, 12x8x75mm, high strength 'Alnico', cut straight and accurate for length. One end painted red (points to the north and is marked N), other end painted blue. Supplied in a vial with a screw top.

A large and very strong magnet supplied with steel 'keeper'.

2,000 gauss at mid point of pole gap.     

Supervision is required when students are using this magnet because it is so strong that fingers can be nipped as the magnet pulls iron products towards its poles.

The 'keeper' across the poles requires care when applying and to remove it might require a pair of pliers to lever it from the poles.

Magnetic Stirrer & Hot Plate combination with 'Thermostat' temperature control. Plain, rectangular, high temperature alloy top plate 200x180mm.

Front panel provides the user with mains switch, Thermostat heat control from 50 to 320deg.C. and speed control for stirring.

NOTE: For general boiling of water etc. to overcome heat losses, it is necessary for the plate to achieve maximum temperature of about 450degC, therefore the 'Simmerstat' control model is recommended for this purpose.

The IEC 8-12V. AC Recording Timer has been used in schools for many years. It seems to be almost indestructible. The heavy diecast base with the rubber feet allows the device to vibrate at 50Hz without the need to clamp it to the bench. The stem from the base permits it to be held on a retort stand for 'falling' experiments. The kit is complete with a 30m roll of white paper and a set of 25 carbon discs for marking the dots on the paper. Large 180m long x 16mm wide paper rolls (PA2670-006) and packs of 100x carbon discs (PA2670-008) are available separately as refills.
